Not too long ago, I took a work trip out of the country. For those of you that travel internationally, you can relate to the very long flight that you have to endure to reach your final destination. Well after a month, I was finally boarding my return flight, quite excited to rejoin my loved ones in Houston, as I had missed them dearly.
I was under the impression that I would have an entire row to myself on the plane, because there weren’t many people checking in for this flight in particular. Boy, was I wrong! It actually ended up being an almost fully booked flight. As we all boarded the craft a Brazilian father and his very young and rambunctious daughter accompanied me, on my row. Instantly, I began to hope and pray that the child would go to sleep. Very selfish of me, I know, but I was really looking forward to spending that 10-hour overnight flight in slumber.
Now, when I was raised, we got a spanking for any and everything. So I expected at least a strong scolding when the child began to act out. But the father lovingly spoke to her in a calm voice. I could tell that he may have been a little irritated, but his daughter was treated with the utmost care. I marveled at how patient he was, how loving and delicate he was, ever so careful with her. When it was time to eat, he fed her, gave her apple juice, and soon after she got sleepy, he patted her to sleep. And I was in awe at how he lightly rubbed her head of golden locks and looked intently at the child until she slept. It was so pure.
God taught me such a valuable lesson on that flight. His love for us transcends our difficult moments. His hand is always on us to lovingly guide us, shaping us in His wise care for us. He comforts us when we are sleeping. He never sleeps nor slumbers, but he is attentive to us and affectionate to his own children. He protects us during the night. As the child rested in her daddy’s arms, my heart began to melt at all these beautiful revelations of a father’s love.
I encourage you to let God father you. When you are a little difficult, don’t immediately expect God’s wrath. God is experienced and knows just how to handle you, regardless of how others feel. As your life ascends from it’s runway, God is there to comfort you through your turbulence, quiet your fears and allow you to rest in Him. Trust in Him as your guardian today! Blessings and peace to you!
-So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.” –Romans 8:15 NLT

Então você não recebestes o espírito que faz com que os escravos temerosos. Em vez disso, você recebeu o Espírito de Deus, quando ele adotou você como seus próprios filhos. Agora vamos chamá-lo, “Abba, Pai”. -Romanos 8:15 NLT
